                                     NATURAL COLOURS OF FARIDABAD

IN FULL BLOOM Holi is over but the city is still awash with colours.  Thanks to nature’s bounty, some Faridabadis captured these hues on their patch of land.

COME take a walk with us as we take you around some of the most beautiful gardens around the Industrial city, which have just been in their full bloom.  It is 6 in the morning and still dark.  Each bird is singing its own tune and yet there is harmony, which is so peaceful and melodious.  The atmosphere is a world apart, known only to those who love nature.

Flats too can bring you beautiful gardens.  All one needs to do is extend the parapet, as Radhika Anand in Charmwood Village has done.  At her fifth floor flat in Royale Retreat, she has a ‘balcony garden’, which exhibits the different shades of green housed in pots and tubs and the final product is a garden, which gives the feeling of expanse in a limited space.

Placing pieces of slabs on the balcony wall, Radhika has been able to work on the limited space to create a vertical garden.  It is the length, rather than the breadth, which she has put to perfect use. “Potted culture is the answer to increasing population and decreasing land space,” is the mantra that has been followed in this balcony garden, which was awarded the first prize by the All India Kitchen Garden Association.
